Happy Birthday Push Creative
Tyneside-based design and communications agency Push Creative has launched 2007 off to a flying start as it turns three years old.
Following an expansion programme in 2006, the business has now doubled in size from its beginnings 3 years ago. The team started out offering purely graphic design services in 2004 but now provide full marketing support including, PR and internet services. Recent high profile clients have included TEDCO (The Tyneside Economic Development Company), Mons2 International Property Specialists and Durham Business School.
Push was the first business to secure a place at the unique Quadrus Centre in Boldon when it opened in May 2005, and true to the vision of the Centre they have grown quickly, also becoming a high profile member of the business community.
This is all the more interesting as Push Creative almost didn’t bring its business to the region at all. Business partners Liz Bassnett and Paul Robinson had spent the previous ten years working with award winning design agencies in Manchester developing brands such as Sony, Adidas and Janet Frazer. The pair’s impressive track record as a team meant that they were often head-hunted by agencies in the North West, which helped give them the confidence to go it alone. They then decided to relocate to South Tyneside, heralding the birth of Push Creative - their own design agency.
Liz Bassnett explains: “Our decision to set up the business here was inspired by seeing all of the exciting changes whenever we came to visit (Paul Robinson, Managing Partner is from the North East). So much was happening here and the area was also becoming known for some great creative businesses, so we thought we’d join in!”
Liz (who was awarded a runner-up award for “Best Cultural & Creative Business” at the 2005 Women into the Network (WIN) Awards) has since become a keen enthusiast for enterprise in South Tyneside.
She was invited as a private sector representative, to assist with creative input to develop the bid for LEGI (Local Enterprise Growth Initiative) in South Tyneside, which culminated in the award of £16.2M in 2006 to support and stimulate enterprise.
More recently the agency has been helping to drive forward ‘Spectrum’ a newly launched body to support the creative sector in the Borough, “run by Creative's for Creative's”. They pulled out all the stops to help raise the profile of Spectrum with a creative campaign both on and off line; its purpose is to provide a launch pad for creative businesses - an area close to their heart.
“As a new business we have been able to grow and develop in the North East with some incredible support and we want to be able to help others do the same. Think how much more successful we can all be if we get together and help each other do business!” Says Liz.
Plans for 2007 include expanding into new markets, but with the same tailored customer approach which has made the business a popular choice here.
