Opening doors to Ideas Hub
Government Minister Stephen Timms visited South Tyneside on the look out for the regions leading Entrepreneurs. The visit took place at Business Matters, the centre for business support and part of the South Tyneside Means Business initiative to stimulate and support enterprise.
Liz Bassnett, Director of Push Creative, a design and marketing agency based in South Tyneside, was invited by the Council with other local businesses to meet and discuss what Government can do to further growth and competitiveness for the region.
She was also asked to help meet and greet their important guest, open the new building with the minister, lead the round table talks and present a local gift as a memento of his visit.
Liz says, "It was a real honour to be asked to open Business Matters with the Minister for Competitiveness. He was eager to hear not only about our successes but also wanted to hear our views about the barriers to success."
As a local role model and entrepreneur Liz has also met with Government officials for Women into the Network, Young Guns and The Quadrus Centre.
