Liz overcomes her fear of heights
The sky was the limit for a charity champ who overcame her fear of heights.
Liz Bassnett abseiled 150ft down the side of the Baltic arts complex on the banks of the Tyne to raise money for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).
A creative partner with Push Creative, Design and Marketing Communications, based at The Quadrus Centre in Boldon, Liz put aside her fear of heights to take the fundraising plunge.
She said: “I’d never done anything like this before and everyone was talking about how frightened they were before going over the side. It must have been the tomboy coming out in me but when I set my mind to do the abseil, I was fine.”
Liz was eager to support the charity as there is a history of the eye disease glaucoma in her family.
“I called on friends, colleagues and business associates to support me and managed with their help to raise over £500 with their donatations.”
When not leaping from a great height for charity, Liz is also a creative guru, leading marketing seminars and assisting customers in need of her expertise.
